GCM Client Career update 1/28/10

Pete became a GCM client just over two months ago.  Together Packard and he scrutinized the network in place and contacted appropriated decision makers in areas of interest.  By strategically aligning himself properly Pete was invited to join MacAfee Property Management in Long Island, NY  and will received a 10% increase in salary over his last position.

GCM Client career update 12/16/09

Jason recently accepted a position as an Institutional Strategist at Charles Schwab.  Client was in the process of rebranding himself when he discovered this position which allows him to move from the IT side of the house to the Business Strategy side.  Much of our work together was in this area of redirection so he’s excited about the position because it re-starts his career along a more desirable path.

The client’s new career position will earn him $135K annually, an increase of 10% over his last position.

GCM update 12/7/09

Scott spent much of last year closing down his family business and was looking to use his sales and operational skills in landing a position with a new company. He learned of Terminix through a colleague who also helped introduce him to the hiring manager.   Scott is on a career track with them in that he will spend a short stint in outside sales then taking over and manage one of their branch.

Packard Brown says that Scott will start off as an outside sales representative while also managing a branch of the business.

GCM update 11/25/09

Kay recently accepted a position as a Home Health Care Provider at Meridian Westland Retirement Community.  By examining her network of professional contacts and targeting the best of those contacts she was able to find a new position after working the GCM process for less than one month.  She will enjoy an increase in salary greater than 10% from her last position.

Consultant comments:   Client chose in part, to stay within her industry (nursing) and worked aggressively to locate opportunity where the culture and nursing team were positive and affirming. She appreciated the coaching around how to promote herself to health care venues and was particularly grateful for all the preparation around interviewing.

GCM update 11/5/09

Client negotiated a compensation package that is 25% higher than the norm for his position in his industry plus a hefty allotment of stock options. Brian successfully navigated the move from the mortgage industry to this rapidly growing, web-based company. He voiced his appreciation for learning how to describe his strengths and experience during the interview especially since he was entering an entirely new industry.

100K+commission + stock options. Total compensation $165K

GCM update 10/23/09

Client had been laid off from her previous company because she lacked the necessary government clearance for the projects they were awarded. Through her networking though, she learned of a similar engineering form that needed someone with her skills and abilities and the clearance rating was not necessary.  As a project manager for Bross Consulting she will continue to advance in her career while developing her core skills.

GCM update 10/9/09

Andrew successfully navigated a transition from real estate (agricultural & water properties) to the renewable energy industry. He is with the 4th largest installer of solar panels in Colorado and they are growing rapidly. The company projects a promotion for him within 60-90 days to territory manager when he can begin building a sales team. He thanked me heartily, for directing him to an industry that greatly appealed to him, but he had no idea of how to locate a position within it.  Andrew’s starting compensation package is at $75K annually plus commission.  He is happy to be a referral.

GCM update 9/25/09

Jay realized a $10K increase in compensation over his last position through effective presentation during the interviews and negotiations. He was laid off by his former employer and had contacted numerous companies in the same industry for a similar sales position.  His new position as a National Account Executive for Shamrock Foods allows him to utilize his Food Science degree and has excellent benefits.
